Forced conversions un-Islamic: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan PM Imran Khan on Monday termed the practice of forced conversions as 'un-Islamic' and said there was no precedent in Islamic history for forcefully converting others. He also vowed to protect and develop worship places of minorities in Pakistan and also facilitate them to the maximum level to perform their religious rituals. PTI

Pak opens Hindu temple after 72 years

LAHORE: Pakistan has opened a 1,000-year-old Hindu temple in Sialkot for 'worship' for the first time since Partition on the demand of the local Hindu community. The Shawala Teja Singh temple is located in Dhaarowal locality, 100 km from Lahore. The temple was partially damaged during attacks on temples here in reaction to Babri Mosque in 1992. PTI

Ramayana paintings for New York museum

NEW YORK: The Ramayana will be the focus of a major exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, with 30 paintings created for the Rajput and Pahari courts of north India between 17th and 19th centuries going on a year-long display at The Met’s South Asian Exhibition Gallery from August 10. PTI
