In swipe at ex-CM, Tanwar asks wasn’t document out at Rohtak

Chandigarh, September 23

Former state Congress chief Ashok Tanwar today said that the party did not need a manifesto for Haryana Assembly elections when a senior party leader has already announced one in his rally at Rohtak on August 18.

Taking a jibe at former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who held a rally at Rohtak on August 18, Tanwar said the Congress leaders had announced that there would be four deputy CMs if the party came to power and had also assured several other doles.

Tanwar had on Sunday skipped the meeting of manifesto committee. “I don’t think a meeting was necessary when one leader had already announced the manifesto,” he said.

Asked whether he would campaign for the party along with Hooda and state Congress chief Kumari Selja, Tanwar replied in the negative. He, however, added that he would campaign on his own. — TNS
