Congress MP from Ludhiana parliamentary segment Ravneet Bittu today urged interim party chief Sonia Gandhi to fix accountability across all levels of the organisation and monitor the performance of all AICC functionaries.
A key member of Team Rahul Gandhi, Bittu demanded resignation of all AICC office-bearers and leaders responsible for the current state of the Congress that has hit an electoral low.
“If Rahul Gandhi can sacrifice everything taking responsibility for party’s defeat in the recent elections, why can’t others, who are equally responsible, resign? Sonia ji should enforce accountability and seek answers. That’s the only way to revive the party. The status quo has to end,” Bittu told The Tribune.
The three-time MP said it’s shocking that leaders who could not deliver in major states despite getting a say in ticket allocation continue in their respective roles. “This is demoralising. The party must find out who prevailed in ticket distribution and must fix their responsibility. Those who failed to deliver must be punished,” he said.
