UK’s Chase addresses German, French partners on seized tanker

British Outside Secretary Jeremy Chase talked on Sunday to his French and German partners over Iran’s seizure of a UK-hailed tanker in the Bay, his office said.

“Both pastors concurred with the outside secretary that protected entry for vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is a top need for European countries, while maintaining a strategic distance from any conceivable escalation,” it said in a statement.

“They consented to stay in touch and to cooperate to accomplish this,” the announcement said.

Prime Clergyman Theresa May will hold a gathering of Britain’s crises board of trustees on Monday to talk about the seizure of the Swedish-possessed Stena Impero.
